Knitting pattern instructions to knit Cracker the Old English Sheepdog.
Cracker is knit using the loop stitch and does not need special yarn to make him. 150g of cream and 100g of grey double knitting yarn is needed.
Here are instructions for loop stitch taken from the pattern.
Loop Stitch (L) : Insert the right knitting needle in to the stitch as though to knit it. Stick out your left thumb towards your right hand and at a right angle to your body about 3-4cm away from the needles. Wrap the yarn around the needle as though to knit the stitch and bring the yarn around your thumb. Holding the loop with your thumb, take the yarn back over the needle the way that it came and knit into the back of the same stitch. You now have created two stitches from this. Take the rear stitch and pull over the second and off the needle, leaving one stitch remaining. The loop should be about 8cm long in total or 4cm in half.

I didn’t understand loop instruction so did it the way I know. The one pattern I didn’t enjoy making even though looks great. I didn’t cut loops. Didn’t like sewing it together! Love all your patterns so easy.
I’ve made Cracker twice now. The first time I made him I did him in a faux fir wool because I didn’t know how to do loop stitch and the effect was amazing. I have just made him again (in fact he was my last completed knit of 2018). This time I tried using a fluffy Chunky wool and he has turned out lovely. Again I did not use loop stitch just stocking stitch. Using the fluffy wool makes him so soft and cuddly.
I love all of your patterns, they are so easy to follow and knit up, and you are very quick to respond to emails should there be any problems.
The only problem I find is that I can cannot knit the patterns as fast as you produce them ?
Great patterns, easy to do and lovely for presents.
