This little knitted hanging dolly decoration is quick and easy. This FREE toy knitting pattern will make a lovely gift or hang as a decoration in your home.
Suggestion : Make a hanging Christmas gift in traditional colours. You could make a hanging decoration for your Chirstmas tree too. Add a little tinsel for some sparkle or ribbon to make it extra special.
Suggestion 2 : Make a hanging pram charm or nursery decoration. Add it to your other knitted gifts as a little something extra special.

Hat – Make 1
With pink, cast on 24 sts
Starting with a purl row, st-st 11 rows
Next: k2tog to end (12 sts)
Draw thread through the remaining stitches and pull tight.

Dress – Make 1

Starting with a purl row, st-st 13 rows
Next (k2, k2tog) to end (33 sts)
Purl 1 row
Next: (k1, k2tog) to end (22 sts)
Change to white
Starting with a purl row, st-st 5 rows
Cast off
Sew down the row ends. Allow the top and bottom to curl. The cord for the arms will go under the collar at the back. Place the white rim round the neck of the body.
Arms and Legs
For the arms and legs, make a twisted cord and knit a foot or hand on either end. Cut 3 pieces of white yarn about 1 metre long each and follow the instructions to make a twisted cord below. You will need to make one cord for the arms and one for the legs.
A twisted cord is made by taking the yarn and fasten all three lengths to one end of a static object for example a door handle. Take the other end of the yarn and twist lots of times. Then allow the yarn to fold in half upon itself and it will twist. Knot the open end to stop the twist from unravelling. Cut to the length desired.
Feet and Hands- Make 4
With white, cast on 10 sts
Starting with a purl row, st-st 3 rows
Change to pink
Starting with a knit row, st-st 4 rows
Draw thread through the stitches and pull tight
Allow the white edge to curl over. Place the knot from the twisted cord into the piece at the white end and then sew down the row ends. Make sure the twisted cord is secure as you go.
For the legs, fold the cord in half and sew it to the bottom of the body.
For the arms, fold the cord in half and attach it at the back. Then take the cord round the back of the neck to the shoulder and attach with a stitch at either side. It is possible to hide the cord under the collar of the dress if desired.
Hanging Cord – Make 1
Make a hanging cord in pink the same as the legs and arms above. Knot it into a loop and attach it to the top of the hat.
To finish, split a length of black yarn and sew two eyes to the front of the face about 2 sts apart.

This product has multiple variants. The options may be chosen on the product pageThis knitted hand sanitiser bottle holder keyring is quick and easy. It will fit one small pocket sized bottle of hand anti-bacterial sanitiser gel into it.
Hang it on your handbag or keyring. It makes it easier than putting contaminated hands into a pocket or handbag when going to look for sanitiser it is already to hand.
They will make great quick gifts for everyone.
If you don’t have a spare keyring, use some ribbon or yarn to make a loop instead. If you don’t like the button, use a press stud or small piece of velcro – whatever you have to hand.
Made with oddments of double knitting yarn. 3mm single pointed needles were used. It is about 15cm tall including bottle and keyring when finished. Oddments of cotton yarn will reduce the stretch on the piece but use whatever oddments you like or have to hand.
Abbreviations : k – knit. p – purl. st – stitch. tog-together. inc – Increase by knitting into the front and back of the same stitch.
A Quick Note on Tension
Tension is a consideration as your bottle will be a fixed size so using larger needles or thicker yarn will make the keyring bigger. The bottle in this example is 5.5cm at the widest (11cm all the way round) and 10.5cm tall.
18sts wide = 5.5cm half a bottle at the widest
36 sts wide = 11cm all the way round the bottle at the widest
This will leave the bottle sitting comfortably in the pouch. If you have a slightly bigger bottle, this will fit too as there is some give in the pattern.
Hopefully you should now be able to check your knitting against your bottle when you begin to knit it.
Just one final note before you begin. If you want to use larger needles then you could reduce the number of stitches by groups of 2. Leave the strap at 8 sts wide and continue to knit the pattern but make sure to measure as you go!
Front – Make 1

To make up
Take both pieces and place the cast on edges together. Sew down the row ends. DO NOT sew the bottom edge together as you need the bottom edge to be open so the bottle neck will fit through.
Fold the strap in half and match the stitch markers at the top. Insert the keyring and sew from left to right so the keyring won’t move.
Then place the strap over the front and mark for the button. Sew a small button in place at the front. Insert a bottle of sanitiser.

Draw thread through the remaining stitches and pull tight.
Attach the ears to the head, one at either side so the bound off stitches are in the centre of the ear. Curl the ear a little as they are sewn.
To finish, sew a triangle in blue to the front of the face to represent the nose. Take a blue thread and go from the bottom of the nose, down and under the chin. Sew two eyes in black just above the nose.
Wrap some blue ribbon round the neck in a bow.
